The date-range tool should be used within the portal's limit. The research found a visible note that inmate-confinement date ranges should be 31 days or less.
Duplin Inmate Search Fields
The Citizen Connect confinement search is tab based. It does not work like a simple statewide name-only locator. Current confinements can display the current list. Admits can be searched by date range. Charge and agency tabs help when a user knows the charge text or arresting agency. Results may change quickly because booking, release, transfer, and court status can change during the same day.

Full live-result fields may change, and some records may not display every field. The best use is to treat the roster as selected public custody information, then verify court case details through eCourts or the Clerk of Superior Court if the issue involves filed charges or court outcomes.

The official detention page also says the facility treats inmates humanely and respectfully and expects inmates to treat staff, visitors, and other inmates with courtesy and respect. It does not publish a separate capacity figure in the research.
Duplin Booking and Court Limits
Booking information and court information should not be merged. A Duplin County inmate entry can help identify custody status, arresting agency, or a charge listed in the detention system. It cannot by itself decide whether the charge was filed, reduced, dismissed, or resolved. The court record is the source for case number, hearing history, plea, disposition, sentence, and court financial entries.

For active warrant questions, use the sheriff and magistrate channels. For state prison, probation, or parole, use NCDAC instead of the county jail roster.
Duplin Inmate Visitation Rules
The official visitation page says onsite visits are provided only under special circumstances and with prior approval of the Chief Jail Administrator. Visits are limited to 30 minutes. Scheduling is by phone through the Detention Center at (910) 296-2324, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The official source text says "one (2) on-site visit per week"; that inconsistency should be confirmed with the facility before relying on it.

Because onsite visitation is restricted to special circumstances, families should call before traveling to the detention center.
Duplin Inmate Phone and Mail
The inmate phone page says the detention center cannot receive incoming calls or take messages for inmates. Telephone service is available in cellblocks from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Calls are collect or prepaid through PayTel Communications. Inmates may speak in 10-minute increments, and the call automatically terminates after 10 minutes. Minutes for collect calls may be purchased by calling PayTel at 1-800-PAY-TELL, which is 1-800-729-8335.
Regular inmate mail goes to the processing address, not directly to the facility. The mail must include facility name, inmate name, inmate ID number, and Facility ID 5055, or it will not be scanned. Regular mail goes to P.O. Box 18247, Greensboro, NC 27419. Approved mail is scanned and accessed through the inmate tablet, and physical mail is destroyed. Legal or privileged mail must be marked Legal Mail and sent directly to Duplin County Detention Center, inmate name and ID, P.O. Box 908, Kenansville, NC 28349.

Those mail rules are strict because regular mail is scanned, physical originals are destroyed, and legal mail follows a separate direct-facility path.
Duplin Inmate Funds and Care
Trust funds, commissary, and care packages use the county's official deposit and vendor rules. Money orders, certified checks, and cashier's checks can be mailed to the Detention Center and must be payable to the inmate under the booked name. Deposits can also be made at the detention center lobby kiosk 24 hours a day with a $3.00 fee, or online at jailpackstore.com for a fee. Commissary is vendor-operated and not owned or operated by Duplin County.
Care packages can be ordered through jailpackstore.com by creating an account, finding the facility, entering the inmate name, and placing the order. The Detention Center contracts with Southern Health Partners for inmate medical, dental, and mental health services.

Duplin Inmates and State Searches
County jail records and state offender records are different. The NCDAC Offender Public Information Search covers North Carolina state prison offenders, probationers, and parolees. It does not include county jail information. Search fields include name, offender ID, offender status, gender, race, ethnic group, birth date options, and age range. Use it when the person may be in state prison, on probation, or on parole.
NC SAVAN and VINELink provide free confidential notifications about custody status. NCDAC says county jail inmates, state prisoners, probationers, parolees, and registered sex offenders are included. Notifications may be by phone, email, text, or TTY. NC SAVAN's 24-hour automated offender information and notification service is 1-877-NC SAVAN, or 1-877-627-2826. Victim Support Services is 1-866-719-0108.
The N.C. Sex Offender Registry is maintained by the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation. It is not a jail roster, but it is a state public-safety registry that may be searched separately by location or person. The registry warns that misuse for threats, intimidation, stalking, or harassment may be prosecuted.
